Friday Evening Fun around Bangalore-Where to Head?

If you are looking to enjoy a Friday evening with friends, just outside the city, and would want some good food to complement the alcohol, I'd like to recommend a hotel that I went out with my friends on the Hoskote highway. Try out Emerald Isle, 2 kms from Hoskote town on the left side of the highway. The restaurant serves food to your rooms, in the most unobtrusive manner, allowing to enjoy your alcohol(even if brought from outside). We tried Butter Naan, with Paneer Butter Masala, along with Dal Makhni. We found it reasonably okay, to eat and belch well, before the conversations starts dimming in the wake of alcohol around. Do check other reviews on the hotel and the food here. My friend, who eats non vegan stuff, seemed happy with their Chicken Kebabs.

Things to be careful :

  • While enjoying your food in the room, do close your windows and doors, as a lot of monkeys prowl in around the area.

  • Breakfast is complimentary, and lunch is charged at around Rs 350 per head. A tad expensive, since it in a resort

  • Most amenties like pool/TT Table are not functional. Its best if you shut yourself down in the room, crank up the Airconditioner, and enjoy your meals.

Hat Tip :

  • External Alcohol is not allowed. Bring your alcohol in a bag, and head to the room. Open it there, and while you order food, you will enjoy the support of the bell boys, who assume people bring their own drinks here.

  • There's a tender coconut shop that closes at 8 pm, three kilometres down the same highway towards Chennai. Stock on some coconut water, to mix with the alcohol to tone down your hangover, and wake up in time for breakfast!
